What is the Sony Card?
Sony Card is the official credit card from Sony, which brings the world of Sony entertainment to customers. The Sony Card works the same as any other credit card. You can use it for everyday spending on anything from meals and petrol to paying for a holiday. The difference is that every time you use it, you can earn exclusive Sony Card reward points, which can be exchanged for free Sony Products.

How long will it be before I hear back about my application?
Every application that is approved is viewed on an individual basis by a specialist Credit Analyst. We therefore take our time and try to approve every individual who applies. You should hear from us within 7 to 10 working days after we receive your application.
Do all who apply receive a Sony Card credit card?
While we would like to give all a card, like all credit card companies we take into account your age, status and financial background before we issue a card. As responsible lenders this is to protect you as well as us.
Am I eligible?
Any one who is over 18 and living in the UK can apply. However, as responsible lenders MBNA, who issue the Sony Card Credit Card, will look to ensure that any credit made available to customers is appropriate. Your chances of being accepted are higher if you already have a credit card, a bank or building society account and a good credit history.
Is there an annual fee?
The Sony Card credit card does not have an annual fee. At Sony Card, we believe that you shouldn't have to pay a premium for carrying a premium card.
How long does the introductory Balance Transfer rate last?
You will receive 0% for 12 months on balance transfers made in the first 90 days of account opening (3% handling fee applies). Typical rate 16.9% APR (variable). If you transfer a balance the month after receiving your Sony Card credit card, you'll get the introductory rate for 11 months, and so on. Therefore the earlier you transfer the balance, the more you'll benefit from the 0% p.a. rate.
How do I get an Interest Free Period on Card Purchases?
Sony Card is the credit card that gives you up to 50 days interest free on card purchases if you pay your statement balance in full and on time each month. That is nearly a two month interest free period on everything you buy using your Sony Card credit card.

All credit limits are individually assigned depending on your financial status.

All credit cards issued are Chip and PIN in card.
What are credit card cheques and how do I get them?
Credit card cheques are like normal cheques, but are paid from your credit card account, not bank current account. They can be used when credit cards aren't accepted such as when you want to pay a household bill. We'll send some after your Sony Card credit card has been sent to you.
Where will my Sony Card credit card be accepted?
As both MasterCard and Visa are accepted throughout the world at retail outlets and ATM machines, you can currently use your Sony Card credit card in more than 20 million outlets throughout the world. How easy is it to transfer card balances to my Sony Card credit card?
Very. Whether you do it online or by phone it should only take a few minutes. If you have all the information with you, the balances will be transferred within 5 working days. Please note that as your Sony Card credit card is issued by MBNA, you can't transfer a balance from another card issued by them.

Who issues the Sony Card credit card?
The Sony Card is issued by MBNA Europe Bank Limited, Registered Office: Stansfield House, Chester Business Park, Chester CH4 9QQ. Registered in England number 2783251. Credit is available, subject to status, only to UK residents aged 18 or over. You cannot transfer balances from another MBNA account. We will monitor or record some phone calls. MBNA's consumer credit activities are licensed by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) and our general insurance activities are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA).
What are Reward Points?
For every pound you and any additional Cardholders on your account spend on card purchases, you will earn one Reward Point. By building up your Reward Points you can reward yourself with a whole range of specially selected Sony products from the Sony Card rewards catalogue.
What are Triple Reward Points?
When you buy a Sony product on your Sony Card credit card you can claim Triple Reward Points for that purchase. So earn free Sony products even quicker by buying Sony products on your Sony Card and claiming your Triple Reward Points!
When do I get my 2,000 FREE Reward Points for signing up to the Sony Card credit card?
You will be awarded 2,000 Reward Points once you have been accepted for the Sony Card credit card and have used the card to make a purchase or balance transfer within 90 days of the account opening.
Do I need to use the 2,000 FREE Reward Points straight away?
You don't have to spend your 2,000 FREE Reward Points straight away. You can save towards over 600 Sony products featured in the Sony Card rewards brochure.
